South Melbourne Football Club, also known as South Melbourne FC or simply South, is an Australian football (soccer) club based in Albert Park, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The club was formed in 1959 as the South Melbourne Hellas and was one of the most successful and popular clubs in the country during the 1980s and 1990s.
South Melbourne FC has won four National Soccer League (NSL) championships, four Dockerty Cup titles, and two FFA Cups. The club's home ground is Lakeside Stadium, which has a capacity of 12,500 spectators.
Melbourne Knights FC, also known as Melbourne Croatia, is another Australian football club based in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. The club was formed in 1953 by Croatian immigrants and was originally known as Melbourne Croatia.
The club has won three NSL championships, two National Youth League titles, and six Dockerty Cup titles. Melbourne Knights FC currently plays their home matches at the Knights Stadium in Sunshine, which can accommodate up to 15,000 spectators.
